After years as a contributing writer for many of the country's leading publications, Kay Meier's first book, "Rehearsal", is available to the public. Poetry lovers and people familiar with the Chicago lifestyle will be especially thrilled by the very colorful scenes painted in words by Meier.
"Rehearsal" is a kaleidoscope of 20th Century events written in down-to-earth language that brings out an emotional reaction from the reader. The reader will soon feel the joy and pain of living with the words of a poet who has a profound understanding of the human heart.
Kay Meier was born in Chicago where she taught high school English for many years. She has published over one hundred fifty poems in literary journals and has received many awards for her poetry. She won first place in "Phoenix Downtown Poetry Contest". Her work was featured on "Dial-a-Poem Chicago". From 1989 to 1996, she edited "RHINO".
