BACKGROUND:

Sometimes it takes a best selling author to give you a kick in the pants. After reading the introduction to Marianne Williamson's best seller, EVERYDAY GRACE and complaining "That was the introduction to my book . . . I haven't written yet!" Ruth Dilley, CMT who had just quit her steady senior home care job decided it was time to write her own inspirational book. With the encouragement of her mom, she invited seventeen co-authors to join her last February and by May 2, 2003 the book was published on-line- just in time to proudly share it personally at Marianne Williamson lecture and book signing a week later!!


The book's content ranges from personal essays and art from a prison inmate, who expresses his hostile environment and paternal tenderness via crayon drawings and a delighted grandmother who recently discovered her talent in computer generated landscapes and abstracts. Then there is also the message of hope from a blind figure skater that found his niche performing with the likes of Peggy Fleming, Dorothy Hamell and the late John Curry. Other coaches, teachers, visionaries share their passion for creative transformation, while funding greater awareness of the real issues needed to address world hunger by donating a portion of the proceeds to The Hunger Project.


A year later the task of transforming the book from electronic to hard copy has become her class project while participating in a Landmark Education Self Expression Leadership Program. Part of the coursework is to create a project that benefits the community (www.landmarkeducation.com).
