An Inspirational Gift for a Mother
May 6, 2004--Shirley Cheng announces the release of her first book, Daring Quests of Mystics, a collection of fairy tales that can be read to and enjoyed by not only mothers, but by any who will appreciate heartwarming tales. Although it is not your everyday chick lit, Daring Quests of Mystics' heroine gives a strong message of life through her exemplary deeds. Beautifully written in an engaging lyrical style, this family-friendly book provokes the readers to discover that fine qualities surpass all powers of magic and sorcery.
A quick glance...
The prodigious stone castle overlooks a prominent countryside of the kingdom known as Noxellia, where days are filled with the blissful sunshine kissing the gentle rolling hills yonder, while impish winds playfully tease women's hair as trees whistle tunes of joy. It is certainly a scene of exquisite tranquility--or so it seems.
Thousands of people of all ranks and ages flood into King Fulacian's castle for charming Princess Sophia's seventeenth birthday. Dancing, music, and feasting of all varieties of dishes are the main menu of the day. At last, the highlight of the event is brought forth--a reading of fortune by Dawn, a special friend of the royal family. Turning to the princess, the oracle utters the startling omen: "Terror and adventure you shall face on your wedding day." Upon completion, Dawn bestows two magical gifts upon Princess Sophia: a white dove and a multicolored ring of rhinestones. How can a dove and a ring possibly help her? Little does she know that these presents will be of so much help as daring quests are conquered, and that the importance of life is taught and cherished more so in each tale.
