SATURDAY NIGHTS AT THE GOD CAFŠ ñ THE DEBUT INSPIRATIONAL NOVEL FROM MICHIGAN AUTHOR HITS BOOKSTORES AUGUST 9

FERNDALE, Mich. ñ Saturday Nights at the God CafÈ, the first book from Southeast Michigan-based author Karen Correll reaches bookstore shelves on August 9.

The Christian-fiction novel focuses on a teenage girl coping with turmoil after the death of her mother, an alcoholic. She faces many decisions, from giving up drinking and promiscuity, to the relationship with her father and extended family.

"The book is about making decisions," Correll says. "It's important to include God in our decisions, even though that might make the situation more complicated. God challenges us to do the right thing, which is not always the easy thing. Once the main character lets God into her life, she begins making the right choices for her and the ones she loves."

Set in present-day Southwest Florida, Julia, the main character of the story, finds an unusual Web site called "The God Caf" at Lily's ñ a local cyber cafÈ ñ and begins to chat online with the site's guide, a woman from Detroit named Hannah. The outlet provides Julia the opportunity to open up and face the confusion in her life ñ from her problems at home with her father to issues at school.

"Young adults struggling with age-appropriate issues will be interested in Julia's decisions and how they affect her life. Anyone searching for God will find inspiration in her journey. Parents struggling with raising issue-laden children will care about the father-daughter relationship," Correll adds.

Saturday Nights at the God CafÈ is published by PublishAmerica in Frederick, MD.
A series of books on the characters is planned.
